The New Year is just around the corner! There is so much to think about as this year is coming to an end. Most people are thinking about New Year’s resolutions, fresh starts, and big goals to kick off the year. Though those are all important, we are thinking about getting your business ahead of the up-and-coming social media trends. Staying on top of the ever-changing social media trends is key to success and engagement on social media.
video content is going to continue to be a fan favorite
Video content will continue to be one of the engaging forms of social media posts. If you have already started using Reels or TikTok, continue to use it in 2022 because the popularity of watching short clips is not going anywhere any time soon. In the social media realm, this type of content is called snackable content because it is short content that is easy to digest. Don’t worry, it’s never too late to start implementing video content into your social media routine. After all, the New Year is the perfect time to start fresh after all!
Along with the popularity of video content, TikTok is going to continue to grow in popularity as a place for companies to create brand awareness and reach a larger audience. With over 500 million users worldwide, TikTok is quickly moving up the ranks when it comes to social media platforms. Many brands are taking advantage of this new-age app by creating unique content that can be used in their marketing strategy.
consistent posting > frequency
We all know the saying, quality is better than quantity. Designing higher-quality posts consistently is far more important than trying to post as much as possible for the sake of creating a massive amount of content. Audiences favor consistent posting as it develops a sense of trust between the viewer and the company, thus increasing the conversion rates. It can be hard to break old habits of posting content inconsistently, so one of the best tips that we can give you is to design a content calendar using a website such as Later to plan out content consistently. Use Analytics to determine how much content is favorable for your perceived audience.
For example, if you can tell from your analytics that most viewers of your videos are watching them for 2 minutes or less, then designing a 30-second intro video clip might be something to consider. Don’t fret too much about creating a highly-polished video right off the bat, brainstorm content ideas and refine them later on.
make sure your intention is clear within each post
We have said it once at Social By Claire and we will say it again, create content with a clear call to action. This goes along with the last point of creating high-quality content. A high-quality post has a clear call to action, engages followers, and follows the company branding guide. The last thing you want to do is confuse your audience, so now might be a good time to leave confusing hashtags behind and bring in some clear call-to-action phrases such as “link in bio” or “learn more here”. These commands will not only help lead followers to the next step but also create higher-quality posts that will do well on social media.

freebies/giveaways need WAY more value in order for people to take action
In order to create quality posts that encourage engagement, a giveaway needs to have a high value. These giveaways might include a chance to win a product or a service but this is only going to be successful if the company decides to decrease the price of their items or services in order for people to take advantage of these sweepstakes. For the most engagement, put yourself into your target market’s shoes to further improve your social media game.
If you are seeing minimal engagement no matter what kind of content you share, it’s time to take a step back and evaluate how your company can be the superhero to your ideal customer’s story.
We hope you found these social media trends interesting and helpful. It’s hard to stay on top of all the changes in this ever-changing world, but we are here for you!
